Canby Independence Day celebration is a large undertaking and we need volunteers to make it awesome! If you are interested in volunteering or finding out what job assignments are available, please contact our volunteer coordinator by sending an email.
Below you will find some of the more commonly asked questions we receive about the celebration. If you do not see your specific question or answer, please feel free to contact us directly by click HERE.
The majority of the daytime activities are held in and around Wait Park, which is located in downtown Canby at 350 N Grant Street. Some activities span 2nd Avenue, and the parade encompasses much of the downtown. The fireworks are held at dusk at Baker Prairie Middle School – 1859 S Township Rd – and are hosted by Canby Fire District’s Volunteer Firefighter Association.
The parade is now at 10am. It will maintain the same route as years before, with the exception that it will now turn left on NW 1st Avenue to showcase the beautiful landscaping, dahlia plantings, and art sculptures.
There are a variety of ways a person, community organization, or business can get involved with the Canby Independence Day Celebration.
• Create a parade float
• Become a vendor
• Enter into the Car Show
• Volunteer for day of activities
• Staff-a-Craft for kids
• Sponsor the event
